Amarillo has been home to many great businesses that have started small and grown into something bigger than anyone imagined. One of those popular local businesses started as something fun and quirky: small pies and cakes. We all fell in love with Biti Pies.

The Rise of Biti Pies

The Huffakers started Biti Pies in Sundown, Texas, in the 1980s, with Skeeter cooking up those tiny little pastries. It eventually grew into the bakery off Amarillo's Historic Route 66. This lovely little bakery at 604 S. Maryland was baking up those delicious little pies and cakes, and you could find them all over Amarillo. Heck, at one point in the bakery's history, QVC picked up those tiny pies.

Where Did Biti Pies Go?

Then, around 2021, the bakery went quiet, and Biti Pies disappeared. In 2024, Antonio Charles revived the business and brought Biti Pies back to life. But it seems to have gone dark once again.

The Building Is Now for Sale

However, the property at 604 S. Maryland that housed the Biti Pies bakery is on the market. The website is down, Yelp is saying the business is closed, and the last post on the Biti Pies Facebook page was in early August 2026.

We have reached out multiple times to find out what is going on with the tiny little pies that Amarilloans love. At the time of publishing, we had not received an answer as to the fate of Biti Pies. Is the brand gone forever?
