It's always fun when you run across a new landmark or a new part of town you didn't know existed.

That is exactly what happened with Pampa, Texas.  Pampa is a city in the Texas Panhandle with a little over 16,000 people that call it home.  Pampa is home to ranching, agriculture, and the oil business.  Pampa is also home to a few famous people including Woodie Guthrie who attended high school in Pampa, T. Boone Pickens, Zach Thomas, who played for the Miami Dolphins, Cody Canada, the red dirt crooner who sang lead for Cross Canadian Ragweed and Cody Canada and the Departed and many others including Dog the Bounty Hunter's Duane Chapman who lived in Pampa in 1972.

For the most part, Pampa is part of the Texas Plains and is a sea of flatland.  That's why when this TikTok video appeared, a sea of laughter erupted. Pampa, Texas are you holding out on us?

When did Pampa, Texas turn into a shire?

Now that the secret is about can someone in Pampa please tell us where the portal to this beautiful part of Pampa is hiding?

Where is it? The people of the Texas Panhandle want to visit this beautiful land with lush green fields and waterfalls.  Just from the look of it, surely there is a unicorn running around somewhere with a hobbit rider holding a ring.

If this is hidden somewhere in Pampa, it's definitely time to book a week's vacation for the summer.  Heck, it's time to buy real estate and commute to Amarillo.

Oh, and can we also talk about the floofy pandas you are hiding near the waterfalls?

Lies, Lies, TikTok lies!

25 Landmarks of Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle

The Somewhat Small Towns of the Texas Panhandle

Say what now? Somewhat small?

That's right. These are the towns that seem massive when compared to teensy weensie two-stoplight towns like Pringle (30) or Kerrick (25), but they're definitely not on the same level as cities like White Deer or Panhandle....much less Amarillo.

Buckle up! We've got a places to go and towns to see! These populations are well over 100, but way less than 1000.

All aboard the Somewhat Small Texas Panhandle Towns tour!

Can You Guess These Towns From Their Satellite Photos?

I'm always down for a good brain challenge. This one however got the best of me.
It's always a fun time looking up address or cities and seeing them from a satellite point of view. You start pointing out landmarks and things you recognize.

One thing you don't account for however is something looking bigger or smaller than you seemed to think it was. So we started grabbing a bunch of these satellite pictures of cities and towns around Amarillo.

As we looked at them, we thought to ourselves, "how fun would this be to actually have to GUESS what these places are?". So away we went.

Go ahead and try to see how many you can guess correctly!
