A Haunting Tale of Amarillo’s Most Cursed Building
Amarillo is full of great businesses, and the city has seen so many great businesses come and go over the years. Some of these businesses have opened up in the same location hoping for a better outcome than the last.
We call these buildings cursed because businesses can't thrive in these locations for many reasons. One of the biggest buildings where businesses thrive, but then don't is
Westgate Mall
Westgate Mall has to be one of Amarillo's most cursed buildings.
Westgate Mall opened to the public in October 1982 with 120 stores. In the last 42 years, many businesses have opened and closed. Some due to the fate of bankruptcy, others couldn't thrive inside the mall. Look at the many businesses we have lost over the last 40 years.
