There is a problem in certain parts of Amarillo, and truthfully it's a problem that can be very hard to get rid of. We've all probably dealt with this problem at some point in our time here, so don't feel like you're alone.

I'm talking about mice. No matter how hard you try or how many traps you set in your house, they show up. Sometimes they will shuttle back and forth between inside and outside, and sometimes they just get cozy in your house.

The hardest part is trying to keep them away from your residence so they don't make their way inside. That is a lot easier said than done. Well, the City of Amarillo is fully aware of the mice issue we have here, and they're ready to help.

Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare is offering up free barn cats to help you keep the mice away from your home!

AMW receives a lot of feral cats at their facility, and they're looking for ways to get them back out in the world. This is one way for them to be able to do that. AMW has taken these cats in, spayed & neutered them, and given them all the vaccinations they need.

Best part about these cats? They're free! That's right, no adoption fee to pay, and no hidden charges. They just want to find these cats a home and help you with the rodent problem we tend to have in the city.

You can reach out to AMW for more info and to adopt a barn cat today.
