Even though it seems the unemployment rate is relatively low in Amarillo these days, it seems there are still many people looking to find themselves a good job.

Sure, there are places that are hiring, but a lot of the ones you openly see and hear about are not always career-minded types of jobs. They are more jobs for younger people in school or just a gig to be able to get by.

What you may not realize is there are more companies out there that are more career-minded looking for help, but it's a little more difficult to advertise for those positions. They don't have fancy boards they can post on that they're looking for help.

Good news for you as a job fair is taking place this week and all those companies looking for help are going to be there.

On November 7th, Workforce Solutions Panhandle will have a host of employers looking for YOU to come and work with them. From 10 am to 2 pm, no less than 30 companies will be setup and accepting applications.

Who knows, you might even get lucky and get an interview on the spot.

Some of the companies planning on being there include Amarillo Police Department, Caprock Home Health, Department of Energy, Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas, JBS Beef Cactus, Pantex, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Texas Department of Transportation, United Supermarkets, and many more.

If you can't find where you want to work from the companies that will be at the job fair, you may find it tough to find exactly what you're looking for. Get out there and check it out. It's your chance to land a job, or make a career change you've been looking to make.
