Kate Middleton and Prince William aren't laughing about the topless photos French magazine Closer published of the soon to be queen of England.  Slapping a lawsuit on the magazine for breach of privacy.

There really isn't any details as to what the royal couple is seeking in "relief", only that the lawsuit was filed today and the legal proceedings have already begun.

The photos were published today, Kate & William threatened to take legal action, and just hours later, have turned the threat into a promise.

The royal family issued a statement today:

"Their royal highnesses have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and totally unjustifiable manner."

The editor of Closer calls the lawsuit hypocritical and says there is "nothing embarrassing about the photos".
This story will continue to grow, keep checking back for updates as they come in!
