Today I received an email from one of our Kiss listeners writing to us about how her experience was at a local steak house restaurant. Terri and her family went out to eat over the weekend at a well known local restaurant. The night supposed to be a fun family night, but ended up being a nightmare! I'm sure everyone has had a run-in where they thought they were treated bad at a restaurant. Not only were the parents were shook up over this experience but, even the kiddos left in tears.

Now I know there's always 2 parts to the story. So here is Terry's side of it.

This is exactly what Terry emailed us:

August 18 we went to the [Popular Steakhouse In Amarillo] in Amarillo Texas for dinner. My husband decided to order a hamburger but he can’t eat seeds because he has diverticulitis. He asked the waitress if the buns had seeds and she said she “didn’t know.” When the hamburger came it was on old, thin and stale white bread. He ordered a bacon/cheddar burger, instead it had a cheap imitation American cheese. It was ...unappetizing and the chicken strips the kids were served were old and dry. Overall we were having a bad experience. We asked to speak to a manager. A man walks over and said what was the problem. We explained our situation and the quality of the food was poor and unacceptable and he said a lot of people really like the food. At this point he had already become argumentative. We asked him to comp the meal and he said he isn’t in the business to give “free food.” None of the food was eaten. I told him I was calling the corporate office and he said go ahead he would “dial the number” because he was the owner and they have no control over his restaurant. We said we were leaving he said he would call the police if we walked the ticket! At this point my kids were scared and crying and people had started to turn the direction of the commotion. I raised my voice and he said I couldn’t talk that way and that I needed to leave and he started moving toward us as we got out of our seat. I was crying and yelling that he needed to fix the order or take the food off and he told us to leave and never return. As we were exiting the bar area a chair that was blocking his way he slung to the side I was walking fast through the crowds and my 3 yr old daughter fell to her knees in the commotion trying to get to the door, her knees were scuffed up all over her leggings and she was crying hysterically. The manager/owner was walking behind us with about 2 other bus boys and we felt very threatened and embarrassed. He was shaking he was so angry we had insulted his food quality! We will never go back! This was the worst experience ever and had effected my kids who are all young and my son’s toy gun remained at the restaurant. People should never be treated like this!
