Some people just don't like to be arrested.  They'll cry, they'll yell profanities and even go to the extreme and attack a police officer.  In some cases, they will attack when already in handcuffs, like this case here.  An Amarillo man, already placed in handcuffs, assaulted 2 APD officers last night.

"On Monday November 18th, at approximately 7:00pm, officers were sent to the 700 block of S Polk on a subject causing a disturbance. Upon arrival officers located a W/M sitting inside a restaurant matching the description. Officers talked to the manager and stated the W/M had attempted to pay for his purchases with Credit Cards that were not any good and that the male subject did not have any way to pay for his order. Officers approached the male subject and identified him as Bryson Dunleavy Chandler W/M 26. Offices learned that Chandler had 2 outstanding Bond Surrender felony warrants, one for Deadly Conduct/Discharge Firearm and the second for Felon in Possession of a Firearm. As the officers were talking to Chandler, he was advised that he had outstanding warrants and that he was under arrest. The two offices escorted him outside and placed handcuffs on the individual. As the officers were patting the subject down for weapons, he resisted a search and continually tried to turn away from the officers. Eventually Chandler was searched and placed in the patrol car. While the second officer went back inside to gather additional information, the arresting officer began completing the arrest paperwork. The male suspect began yelling profanities and striking his head on the divider between the front and back seat of the police car. The suspect struck his head on the divider 4-5 times even after being told to quit. The officers then determined that in order for the suspect to keep from hurting himself a protect helmet was needed on the suspect. Officers opened the back doors and began to place the protective helmet on Chandler. Chandler continued his aggressive behavior and “head butted” the officers numerous times while they were attempting to gain control. Additional officers were called to assist and the subject eventually removed, placed in leg restraints and in the protective helmet and re-secured in the patrol car. Chandler was transported to Randall County where he was booked into jail for two counts of Assault on a Public Servant, Resisting Arrest/Search/Transport, Theft of Service over $20 less than $500 and the two outstanding Bond Surrender warrants. The officers received several knots and abrasions from the assault however did not require medical attention."

If the officers had knots on their heads, I can only imagine what the suspects head looked like.  I bet he had a few lumps, his lumps his lumps his lumps, his lovely manly lumps, on his head.  Great way for him to occupy his time in jail, playing connect the knots.
