Man Robbed At Gun Point In Amarillo Motel 6 Parking Lot

Amarillo isn't quite a "tourist town", so the few people that do come through and take a stay for the night shouldn't be greeted in such a manner.  A man was staying at the Motel 6 on I40 East and when he was loading up his luggage, he was greeted at gun point by somebody who really wanted this guy to hate Amarillo.

Amarillo Police:

"Today at about 5:15 AM, officers were dispatched to the Motel 6, 4301 IH-40 East, on a personal robbery. Officers interviewed the victim, a W/M 54, who had been robbed at gunpoint. The victim stated that he had stayed at the motel overnight, and was getting ready to leave this morning. He was walking to his car that was parked on the parking lot in front of his motel room to load his luggage. He saw a man walk around the corner of the motel and approach him at his car. The male suspect pulled out a small handgun and demanded his wallet. The victim gave the man his wallet with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect left the motel parking lot walking east. The suspect is described as W/M in his early 20’s, 6’00 - 6’02, having a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black fleece pullover, blue jeans and a black baseball cap. There were no witnesses and the victim was not injured."

What a way to turn a person off on your town!  Great job whoever you are, you really make other Amarillo citizens proud!
