Your McDonald’s Meal Could Support Amarillo Families This Week

Amarillo has always been good about giving back to the community. We've seen it firsthand with Help 4 The Holidays. Marshall's hasn't even opened, and they just donated $10,000 to a local agency. We've also seen how many non-profit organizations are out there that need help.

Another thing to remember is how many of those organizations are helping right here in Amarillo. Non-profits don't succeed without help from the community and the people that need them. More than ever, people are reaching out for help from those organizations.

McDonald's Gives Back

This is a program that has been around in Amarillo for quite some time, and has done a lot of good in the community. The McDonald's Gives Back program has done just that...give back, and a lot to the Amarillo community.

Just six months ago, this program selected Make-A-Wish as the recipient of the McDonald's Gives Back day. The program takes a portion of the proceeds from a selected day and donates it to an organization of their choice within Amarillo.

Wesley Community Center Chosen Next Recipient

This time around, the Wesley Community Center will be receiving a nice injection of funds. The Wesley offers so much that the community needs, such as childcare, after-school programs, summer camps, and senior citizen programs. The best part? They offer all these things "at low or no cost to people throughout our community," according to America Adame, the Executive Director of Wesley.

This is the third time they've been chosen as a recipient of McDonald's Gives Back Day, and it's clear to see why. The way they help and impact the community goes beyond words. So Thursday, September 3rd, get out to McDonald's for a meal in Amarillo, Canyon, Borger, Dalhart, or Dumas and help support the cause.
