A recent Microsoft executive's comments on Twitter hint at the future of the Xbox One's digital downloading service.

Phil Spencer has recently responded to a gamer's suggestion on Twitter that the Xbox One should be doing digital launches at midnight for new games while offering a video streaming service of the midnight launch events worldwide as the game itself is downloading. Spencer responded by saying that the gamer's comment is an ideal that Microsoft is aspiring to reach. Spencer is currently the Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Game Studios.

For a system that was originally intended to be completely disc-less and primarily dependent on digital downloads, the Xbox One should be adhering to this concept. A future goal of digital new releases on consoles should stem from the PC archetype, where players can preemptively download the entire game before its release and the game fully unlocks at the stroke of midnight on the night of its release. This could help build more incentives for gamers who are on the wall about digitally download their console titles.
