One of the most iconic things in Amarillo is the horse statues that you see all around town. They are an immediate talking point amongst residents and visitors alike. I know when I have family in town, one of the first things they ask about is the painted horses around town.

Remember when the Hooters closed up shop, and the first thing that was asked by residents was what was going to happen with the horse statue outside? Yes, they are that big of a deal to the city, so when a new one is introduced, it's big news.

Asher Point Gets Their Own Horse

Well, here we are, another horse will be introduced to Amarillo, and many have been wondering what it will be. Now, we know. First things first, where it the new horse statue going to be located?

Asher Point Independent Living of Amarillo is the latest recipient of their own quarter horse statue, and there is a palpable excitement around it. It's not often these statues are awarded, so it's kind of a big deal.

What Will The Theme Of The Horse Be

Naturally, this becomes the next question. Anyone who has one of these horses doesn't just keep it basic. They have it painted to reflect something that has to do with their location or business, and Asher Point will be no different.

Asher Point allowed its residents to vote on what they'd like to see the statue painted as, and the vote produced a bluebonnet theme. Artist Gary Ward is the one who painted the horse.
