Niall Horan lifted the withered and weary spirits of patient One Direction fans everywhere when he recently admitted a band reunion was not entirely out of the realm of possibility. Better yet, he said, it'll likely happen within the next few years.

“For now, in the moment, we are kinda doing our own thing,” Horan said while promoting his debut solo single "This Town," during a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show. “I’m doing this, Harry’s doing a movie [Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk]. Harry did a movie. You know, we’re all doing our own bits and pieces. Can’t really put a date on it, but it’s not gonna be 50 years away. It’s in the foreseeable [future].”

One Direction have been shilling the idea of an eventual reunion since their indefinite hiatus began last December. But fellow bandmate -- and future Oscar winner -- Harry Styles has been less forthcoming about the possibility of a 1D reunion. During an interview with Chelsea Handler for Another Man Magazine, Harry admitted a One Direction return would only happen if the four of them came together organically.

"I don't know," he said via Sugarscape. "Maybe at some point everyone will want to do something again but it's better if it happens naturally like, 'Hey we all really want to do this again.' If that were to happen it would be amazing. I would never rule that out."
