Back in June, Amarillo participated in the nationwide "No Kings" protest. It was one of 2,000 locations that took part in the mostly peaceful protest across the country.

The protest took place on Coulter & 45th, right across the street from John Stiff Park, and it had approximately 200 people who showed up in support of the protest. There were also about a dozen people who showed up to oppose the protest.

What Is The "No Kings" Protest About

The protest was in direct relation to President Trump, as it aimed to protest against some of the different policies and actions of his administration. Some of the more pointed things they mentioned were his perceived fascist tendencies and a perceived backslide of democracy.

The protest took place on June 14, which happened to be President Trump's birthday. It was also the day of the U.S. Army's 250th Anniversary Parade. There have been some random protests that have popped up in different cities since then, but now another nationwide one is scheduled to take place.

When & Where Will The Latest "No Kings" Protest Take Place

As stated before, this will be another nationwide protest, the second of its kind, and Amarillo is once again slated to participate in the event. Millions of people are expected to participate across the country, with no projections for how many will participate in Amarillo.

The protest is slated to take place on October 18 between the hours of 2-6 pm. In Amarillo, the protest is slated to take place at 601 S. Buchanan St. That address is the old City Hall, and protesters will be walking up and down the sidewalk there.
