The two are currently staying at SafeHaven of Tarrant County, a shelter providing assistance to families healing from violent relationships.

Around this time of the year, a lot of kids are getting ready for Christmas. Some kids are also sending off their yearly letters to Santa. The big day is just one week away. Seven-year-old Blake recently wrote a letter to Santa and his mom found it in his backpack.

They're currently staying in a shelter and Blake is worried Santa won't be able to find him. Blake isn't asking for much. Some books, dictionary, compass, and a watch. The part that hurts, Blake asked Santa for a good dad. Safe Haven recently had their toy drive, but they do accept donations throughout the year if you would like to help out a family. You can read Blake's letter in full below.

Dear Santa,

We had to leave our house. Dad was mad. We had to do all the chores. Dad got everything he wanted. Mom said it was time to leave and she would take us to a safer place where we don’t have to be scared.

I’m still nervous. I don’t want to talk to the other kids. Are you gong to come this Christmas? We don’t have any of our stuff here. Can you bring some chapter books, a dictionary, and a compass and a watch? I also want a very, very, very good dad. Can you do that, too?

Love,

Blake
