Diving into Google Maps and toggling the historical timeline for any given location is an easy way to spend your afternoon. I started this photo project early yesterday morning--and just about let the day get away from me!
I can't help but think about the time, planning, money, tax bonds, all the "little things" that went into the development and growth of Soncy over the decades. My editor pointed out that when she was a small girl, she remembered there being absolutely nothing but rabbit mounds and prairie dog towns beyond Westgate Mall. That's shocking to me.
But while I could go on with waxing poetic, why not take a look for yourself? Maybe you'll find yourself fascinated enough that you'll head over to Google Maps and spend a little time seeing what once was and what it is now.
