In my world, music videos are art.  Not all art is understood or liked, and many times is considered controversial.  Rihanna's latest music video 'Man Down' is a perfect example.

The song has been playing on the radio and it clearly says she kills a man, so what were people expecting with the video?  I really don't know, but it has certainly made people start talking.  Once the video was released, the Parents Television Council went on a mission to have it banned from tv.  They are pleading with MTV not to air it and asking BET to take it off the air.

So what is the big deal?  Well the video begins by Rihanna hiding in the shadows and shooting a mad in the head.  The rest of the video shows a flirty, friendly  Rihanna.  Then she is sexually assaulted.  The shooting was kind of a retaliation.

Does that make it ok?  No violence is never the answer, but it does exist.  So like every story, there are two sides.  The side of bashing the video.  It is inappropriate and shows how violence breeds more violence.  The there is the side of knowledge.  The video is bringing awareness to the situations presented.  Which is the right side?  Well the problem is in a situation like this there is never a right side.

Rihanna went on twitter to defend her video and many of her followers support her.  What do you think?  I have posted the video below, but be advised that is graphic and it does contain violent images.  If you decide to watch it, please share your thoughts below.
