Scariest Movies To Be Released In 2016 [VIDEO]

2015 was not a good year for horror flicks in my opinion. There weren't even any good scary movies released around Halloween. But I guess they were amping up for 2016.

Rumors have been flying around that this is going to be the year for scary movies. Here's a list of horror flicks to be released this year. Get your calendars out and mark the dates...

The Boy (Jan. 22nd)

THE BOY is a frightening, original horror-thriller directed by William Brent Bell (THE DEVIL INSIDE) starring Lauren Cohan ("The Walking Dead"). In theaters 1/22/16.

Greta (Cohan) is a young American woman who takes a job as a nanny in a remote English village, only to discover that the family’s 8-year-old is a life-sized doll that the parents care for just like a real boy, as a way to cope with the death of their actual son 20 years prior. After violating a list of strict rules, a series of disturbing and inexplicable events bring Greta’s worst nightmare to life, leading her to believe that the doll is actually alive.

The Witch (Feb. 26th)

In 17th-century New England, religious hysteria overtakes a farm family who blames the eldest daughter for the disappearance of an infant son. The family is torn apart by the forces of witchcraft, black magic and possession.

Amityville: The Awakening (2016)

A single mother moves her three children into the haunted house not knowing of the house's bloody history.Strange phenomena begin to occur in the house including the miraculous recovery of her brother, Belle begins to suspect her Mother isn’t telling her everything and soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.

The Conjuring: The Enfield Poltergeist (June 10th)

Get ready to get scared all over again, because "The Conjuring 2" has gotten an official release date and locked in its two leads. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will reprise their roles as exorcists extraordinaire Ed and Lorraine Warren in the untitled sequel that will hit theaters on 2016.

Leatherface (Released TBD)

Prequel about teenage Leatherface who escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates, kidnaps a young nurse and takes her on a road trip from hell. Along the way, they are pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge.

Hopefully there will be more released this year, but this list alone gets me pumped. I will keep you updated when new scary movies come out.
