Shawn Michael Hooten Arrested For Murdering His Father

Around 8:00pm, Amarillo Police officers were taking a report on an unrelated incident on the 6100 block of Bell where they were approached by Shawn Michael Hooten.  Officers immediately recognized Hooten as the wanted man for stabbing and killing his own father and he was immediately, and willingly, arrested.

Amarillo Police:

"At around 8:00 PM, several police officers were taking a report from a person on an unrelated incident in the 6100 block of S. Bell. As the officers spoke with the complainant, they noticed a WM walking toward them. The officers immediately recognized the WM as Shawn Michael Hooten, WM, 5-17-78. Hooten was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Special Crimes Unit. Hooten will be booked in to the Randall County jail for his murder warrant."

I don't know what kind of problems there were between Shawn and his father, Perry.  Why would anyone kill their own father?  I just don't understand.
