I found a pretty interesting article from Kyndel Lee-Bates on Connect Amarillo about how all the moister we have been seeing lately is leading to an increase in snails and slugs in Amarillo resident yards and gardens.  I live my life by the "live and let live" code, I just don't kill anything and I do mean anything, but for those of you that do want to rid your lawn of snails and slugs, it's a pretty good read that will lend a hand with both home remedies and store bought products to remove the slimy snails and slugs from your lawn.

From the salt remedy to beer, the article tips you to many solutions for your snail and slug problem.  From ways to bait them into an area, to safe ways you can repel them without risking getting one of your pets sick due to chemicals.

Connect Amarillo/Pro News 7:

"Clean up your vegetable gardens and flowerbeds from any debris or anything that's real shaded right there- any stones or anything like that.  That's where they're going to be coming from."

He also recommended laying Eucalyptus mulch, which he said is the key ingredient in repelling snails and slugs.
