Snow Causes Several Accidents On I40 This Morning [PHOTO]

There were several collisions and traffic accidents due to slick road conditions as Mother Nature gave us the gift of a late and unwanted snow early this morning.  Some portions of I40 had the on-ramps blocked off, causing several delays, and 5 accidents so far reported, there may be more to come.  This picture was taken by an Amarillo citizen while driving to work this morning, west bound on I-40 & Grand.

"APD officers are investigating several collisions on IH40.  The accidents have been reported on both sides of the Interstate, and have made it necessary to block some on-ramps.  Accidents working at IH40 and Soncy, Ross, Nelson, Grand, and the city limits.  There may be others, also.  Plan for delays if you must travel on IH-40 and be prepared to slow or stop for accidents and slick spots.  These accidents may take an hour or more to clear.  No serious injuries are reported at this point."
