Texas Bucket List was in town again over the weekend. I say again, because it isn't the first time the show has highlighted Yellow City. I highly doubt it will be the last.

Longhorns, Vodka, and Chicken Fried Steak

Over the weekend, Shane and crew visited several restaurants in town. They even found time to take in the cattle drive marking the start of the Coors Cowboy Club Ranch Rodeo.

Shane said the most impressive part of the cattle drive was that the longhorns all seemed to know what to do, and where to go.

The stops for this trip to Amarillo included Bomb City Vodka and Green Chile Willy's. Not bad for a quick stop in town.

Bomb City Vodka

If you've never been to Bomb City Vodka, I recommend making the trip at least once. It's pretty laid back, and you'll find it easy to relax and enjoy any of the many offerings on their menu. I have to admit, I'm not a vodka fan but I really enjoy their Moscow Mules.

Green Chile Willy's

Green Chile Willy's is a place my family eats at often. My wife has been a long-time avid fan of theirs, and constantly wanted to take me there while we were dating. Now, it's a regular stop for us and kids.

The staff are always very nice, and I have to admit I do like the chicken fried steak. Also, the fried pecan pie is the only way to end a meal there. Trust me on this.

72 oz Steak Challenge

Having the opportunity to finally talk to someone who has beaten the 72oz Steak Challenge, I had to know just how painful the experience is. Shane wasn't shy. Three days is the number he quoted as the time it took to recover.

You can catch the episode on the upcoming season of Texas Bucket List, set to air starting this fall on KVII at 10:30 AM Sunday mornings.

The 2021 Cattle Drive in Downtown Amarillo

The Downtown Amarillo Cattle Drive is an annual tradition that kicks off the Coors Ranch Rodeo. After Cattle Drive was put on hold during the 2020 pandemic, but this year it came back better than ever.
