Since before the election there have been talks about people moving to another country if Obama won and other ridiculous ideas.  Whether you like or not, Obama did win.  The latest idea, signing a petition for Texas to secede from the U.S.

The nation stands divided and some states, including Texas, are beginning to take measures into their own hands-their online hands.  There are 20 states that have requested the Obama Administration grant a peaceful withdrawal from the United States.

A Texas resident created a petition on Friday and by Sunday morning 4,000 signatures were on it.  This morning that number had already jumped to over 15,000 and more signatures are continuously being added.

So will the Obama Administration even see the petition?  Actually yes.  If the petition receives 25,000 signatures within 30 days, it will be sent to the Obama Administration to consider the request.  The White House staff will then review the petition, make sure it's sent to the appropriate policy experts and then give an official response.

It doesn't matter if you are for Obama or against him, this isn't going to make things better.  Republican, Democrat, or any other political party, the U.S. has always stood by their Presidents.

And secondly, 25,000 signatures isn't nearly enough to represent the Texas population.  The number of signatures should be increased to a total percentage of the Texas population, at least half.

Where do you stand?  Do you think Texas should be allowed to secede?  And do you think Texas could make it as it's own country?
