The PARC in Amarillo is Getting Ready For Annual Scavenger Hunt
Spend five minutes on social media and you'll find someone asking what there is to do in Amarillo. This gives you something to do, will get you out of the house, and it goes to a good cause. The PARC in Amarillo is getting ready for the second annual scavenger hunt.
Put Together a Team, and Compete For Cash.
The event description says that the scavenger hunt will have you, and your friends if you take them along, going all over Amarillo. You'll be stopping by local businesses, completing challenges, and taking a lot of photographs.
Registration is open, and it is open to teams of 1 to 6. Packets will be available for pick up starting August 5. It will set you back $65, but it comes with a chance at winning a $500 prize and it goes to a good cause.
What is the PARC?
The PARC is a local organization that works with our area's homeless population. The Panhandle Adult Rebuilding Center (PARC) exists to help those who find themselves experiencing homelessness to "become aware of life's possibilities" as their website puts it.
According to their website, their mission is to help those individuals build confidence and relationships so that they can achieve their goals. You can't help but smile when you read some of the stories they have posted on their site.
Even their "news" section is filled with heart touching stories and observations. A post from July 1 describes a game of UNO where the individuals playing all have a unique background and story to tell.
