Three Amarillo Events You Won’t Want To Miss This Weekend

This weekend in Amarillo looks like it may be a little on the hot side, but that doesn't mean it should stop you from going out. There's always the old standby things to do, like go see a movie, go have some drinks or food on a patio, etc.

However, there are several events happening this weekend that you may not know about that could provide you with a great time. A couple are very family-friendly, while one is for the adults to sneak away and enjoy each other's company.

Props N Pistons Car Show & Fly In

This fun event will be taking place at Tradewind Airport in Amarillo. It's a big car show that is full of some incredible hot rods that you don't normally get a chance to see. The event is put on by Bomb City Hot Rods and will be one of the coolest things you'll see this weekend.

All the proceeds from the event go to Hope Lives Here, and it's a great organization. It pairs up Veterans with dogs that are trained to be service animals for them. The event takes place Saturday, June 27, from 9 am to 3 pm.

Route 66 Motor Speedway

Yup, the speedway is up and running, full of excitement...and loud. Nothing screams a Saturday night of fun like coming home and smelling like ethanol. The 305 Sprints will be running, and they're chasing down a $1000 prize, so the competition will be fierce.

If you've never been, you're missing out. These cars whip around the dirt track and get chippy with one another. You and the entire family will have a great time. There's even a fireworks show that will take place after the racing.

Bingo Night at Bar Z Winery

BINGO! That's the sound of you winning a little something something. Bar Z Winery in Canyon is bringing back bingo night, and it's a chance for you to enjoy their incredible wine and maybe even win some while you're there.

The event happens on Friday, June 26th, and the fun kicks off at 6 pm, so it won't even be a late night. You'll get to relax and enjoy a bit of fun playing a game, trying out some wine, and letting yourself forget about the long week.
