U.S. Women's soccer team captain Megan Rapinoe is a fan of the late Nipsey Hussle.

On Sunday (July 7), Rapinoe uploaded an Instagram post celebrating the U.S. winning the Women's World Cup title, and for the caption, she quoted a few lyrics from the late rapper.

"Ain't really trip on the credit, I just paid all of my dues. I just respected the game, now my name all in the news," her caption read, quoting Nipsey's 2018 track, "Hussle and Motivate." "Trippin' on all of my moves, quote me on this, got a lot more to prove- @nipseyhussle #tmc #cheesin."

The women’s team won following a 2-0 victory over the Netherlands in the final on Sunday. Megan herself also took home the Golden Ball and Golden Boot awards for best player and top goal scorer.

In recent Nipsey news, the battle over the trademark to his phrase The Marathon Continues seems to have come to an end. Both Nipsey's family and the Crips gang filed their own trademarks for the phrase and it looked like it was going to be an issue, but the Crips have since backed down and issued an apology.

"We are deeply sorry for any disruptions and melee that the trademark acquisition may have caused to his family, friends and fans," the Crips' statement reads. "We realize that our actions may have been offensive and we have reached out to his family, respectively Nip's sister, Samantha Smith."
