I love it when cool family things come to Amarillo!  And for the 5th year in a row, the Up in the Air For Family Care Balloon Rally is coming to town.

We have all heard about the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque, right?  Well, many of us have never had the opportunity to go.  It looks pretty awesome and fun for the whole family.  While it isn't on the same scale as Albuquerque, Amarillo will get a little taste of the fun.

There will be different activities all weekend long.  On Friday morning, hot air balloons will take flight from different locations throughout Amarillo beginning at 7:30am.  Then on Saturday, there will be a sunrise ascension from the High Plains Children's Home, 11461 S. Western.

Then Saturday night, all the fun happens.  The Don Harrington Discovery Center will host the 5th Annual Balloon Glow!  Hot air balloons will inflate and glow starting at sunset.  There will be live music, a bunch of kid's activities, food booths and fun.

The rally will end on Sunday when the balloons will glow and a sunrise ascension will take place inside Palo Duro Canyon.  The park is even offering free admission from 6-10am.

What a great way to spend the weekend.
