What to Expect At Amarillo’s Indoor/Outdoor AMA-CON This Year
It's been interesting to watch as the updates come out regarding AMA-CON this year. Here's what to expect at this year's indoor and outdoor event.
AMA-CON Outdoors Means Vendors, Cosplay, and Quidditch.
The first location will be at the library's southwest branch on 45th. It's the one by John Stiff Memorial Park and McDonald Lake. This is where there will be vendors, the cosplay parade, and Quidditch.
Apparently July 31 is Harry Potter's birthday, and you will be able to enjoy participating in the iconic sport from the series to celebrate.
If you're anything like me, you had no clue that Quidditch is now a game played internationally. There will even be an all-star team present at AMA-CON to help teach you how to play.
The all-star team is comprised of players who have competed all over the world, according to their big announcement. If you're a Potter fan, I'm sure this is going to be something you'll at least want to spectate. If your kids are Potter fans, they'll even have a special event called Kidditch that is Quidditch designed for kids.
The outdoor portion lasts from 8 AM to 1 PM. At 1 PM, they will be kicking off the indoor portion of AMA-CON.
Indoor AMA-CON Is All About Gaming and Geek Prom.
It will be at the Civic Center Complex, and is where you will go for the gaming sessions. This is where they are planning on having video and tabletop games, along with art.
Geek Prom is still happening. It will be at the Civic Center Complex as well, and it starts at 6 PM.
I have to hand it to organizers. I can sympathize with the difficulty they must be having, putting on a large event while trying to keep everyone safe. I'm sure it can't be easy.

It's Hard To Beat The Ticket Price
By the way, the cost is actually beyond reasonable. Wristbands are only $5 and are good for both locations. If you're looking for a cheap way to keep the kids occupied, five bucks might do the trick.
