On Friday afternoon, an 18 wheeler towing another truck containing hazardous materials was making it's way through Hemphill County, just north east of Amarillo, when both the truck towing and the truck being towed over-turned and spilled out the hazardous material it being carried.  The hazard material spill was cleaned up and contained by an Amarillo Environmental company but the condition of the driver is currently unknown.

The truck was being drove by 24 year old Juan Miguel Ruiz-Rivero, as he was approaching an intersection, he was attempting to stop the 2 trucks.  At that point, Juan realized he was not going to be able to stop the trucks and turned the vehicle south of the intersection, where they turn over and the contents spilled out.

"A truck was towing another truck going south on U.S. Highway 83 when the driver attempted to stop the vehicle but failed.

There was a lack of air pressure for the vehicle so it was unable to stop.

According to DPS, Rivero's condition is unknown. Rivero was transported to Hemphill County Hospital."

So the lack of air pressure in the brakes on the truck is what caused the turn over and the hazardous material spill.  Again, it's been contained, but the status of Juan, the driver of the truck, is unknown at the time.  Say a prayer for Juan and his family that he is doing okay and not in any serious danger of any sort.  If he were to have been covered in this "hazardous material", Lord only knows what kind of illness he could be facing, so please say a prayer for him!
