Amarillo is the 24th city I have relocated to since getting the boot from my parent's house, and I can say it never gets easier. Each time I've relocated it was always within a short notice, so getting everything organized after the 24th move should be cake right? Wrong.

First of all, the stress of moving to a new city without having a new place to move is daunting. When you take a new job with a company and it requires you to relocate it's an exciting adventure filled with new places and people.

However, getting there and finding a new home is one of the most stressful things one will experience, especially, if you have a spouse and family. For me moving to Amarillo was going to be stress-free I decided, after all, I was only moving from San Antonio how hard could it be?

Fortunately for me, I had some friends that offered to help pack me up and move my belongings from the 210 to the 806 for a reasonable price. The only thing I had to do was find a place to live. Here comes the stress.

I had a few options and decided on a place that was still under construction and my move-in date was set ...then reset ...then twice more due to construction lags. Finally, I had a solid date and made arrangements for my friends to head up to Amarillo with that famous George Strait song in mind.

Then my friends remembered Mother's Day and couldn't make the set date, so once again I'm stuck in limbo. After about a month and a half, my worldly possessions finally arrived albeit hastily packed by non-moving Millenials, who find it acceptable to pack a vase with dumbells. Sad for the vase. Last night was almost Christmas like.

Opening boxes someone else packed was exciting and fun. Laying on MY bed, on MY pillows I thought about this moving experience, I closed my eyes and said quietly to myself, never again.

So get used to having me around Amarillo, I'm Danny Wright on KXSS-FM and I'm here to stay, so let's get to know each other!
