A Few Of My Favorite Things: What Is It About Amarillo That You Love?
So it's been roughly half a year since I moved to Amarillo now. I've found things I love, and things I'm not so fond of.
I'd imagine it would be the same for just about anyone right?
Now I know there are plenty of people who are Amarillo natives. Some choose not to leave a city for a myriad of reasons.
I was cruising around Reddit and I saw someone post asking a question about "what's your favorite thing about Amarillo?" Some of the answers were predictable, but some of them really have me looking forward to being here for a long time. Here's a few of the answers given.
So on this one, I have to agree. I love the nice warm evening after what was a really hot day. Something about that temp getting down into the 75 degree range that makes it feel so perfect outside. I love sitting on my back patio with a cold one and the grill rolling, and it's on these days that I TRULY love it the most. The food is something I'm still exploring personally, but the food I have had has been pretty tasty.
Well I haven't been here for the snow yet, but it's obviously that time of season. I'm looking forward to seeing what these users are talking about. The snow is typically a pretty sight all on its own, but it seems to have a different look and feel here in the 806.
First off, I agree with the Sod Poodles. I'm a huge baseball fan and was pumped when I heard there was a team here. Beautiful stadium and just all around great atmosphere. This user also mentioned Pondaseta Brewing. I haven't been to the brewery itself yet (but I have seen it), but I can say I've tried a couple of their beers and they are pretty darn tasty.
Yes, yes and yes. Look, I've lived in a lot of big cities and suburbs of them. It takes 20 minutes just to get to the highway sometimes because of traffic. The fact that everything is so close here is a massive plus to me. I live right in the middle of the city, and I find it's only about 10-15 minutes anywhere I need to be. I LOVE that about Amarillo.
So tell me, what is YOUR favorite thing about Amarillo? I'd love to know.
