Amarillo Man Robbed In Parking Lot Of Local Movie Theater
Amarillo Police report that a robbery took place in the parking lot of Hollywood 16 last night at approximately 11:07pm in Amarillo. A 20 year old male was robbed by 2 men as he was walking to his car after watching a movie.
Does this take us back to a point I keep trying to drive into your brains? YES! Holiday crime prevention is a must!
Back to the story.
The victim told police that as he was walking back to his car, 2 men were yelling at him to "show his hands" and approaching him in a very aggressive manner.
Out of fear of being assaulted, or worse, the victim grabbed all the loose bills out of his front pocket and threw them on the ground towards the thieves. They grabbed the money and quickly disappeared back into the depths of the parking lot.
APD:
The victim immediately got on his cell phone and began calling the police. As he was doing so the suspects apparently heard him on the phone and they proceeded to drive over to his vehicle. The suspect in the passenger side of the vehicle then punched out the window on the passenger side of his vehicle. The suspects then left the area in a 90’s model Ford Ranger. The victim stated he recognized both of the suspects as acquaintances in the past but had not seen them in several months and could not think of any reason why they would have attacked him in this way.
The victim was not injured, so that's some good news, but again, it goes back to the point of the fact that crime and robbery always increases around the holiday season.
PROTECT YOURSELF AND DON'T BE A VICTIM!
