An Amarillo man was struck by a vehicle earlier today, according to Amarillo Police, he is at the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver, a 25 year old white female, named Rachel Burgess, was making a turn onto the Amarillo Blvd. as she struck the pedestrian.

On November 29, 2012 at approximately 8:45 AM, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian collision in the 3800 block of East Amarillo Blvd. Upon their arrival they found that a 2009 Chevy 4-door driven by Rachel Burgess, WF, 25 had been turning from southbound on N Hill to eastbound onto E Amarillo Blvd. As she was turning she struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian was crossing Amarillo Blvd from south to north. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Dept. Alcohol and speed are not factors in this collision.

While his name has not been released, we do know it was a white male that was struck by the vehicle, and he's currently in the hospital.
