Armed Robbery This Morning At Pilot Truck Stop In Amarillo

This morning, Amarillo Police were dispatched on a call for fighting and armed robbery at the Pilot Truck Stop at I-40 & Lakeside.  The good news, the suspect was arrested.  The bad news, the victim was just passing through Amarillo, and probably never wants to come back!  Way to go!  Good job making us look like a bunch of crooks Mr. Idiot!  But I digress...

Amarillo Police:

"On 10-21-13, at 2:26 AM, officers were sent to the Pilot Truck Stop at 715 S. Lakeside on a fight near the main entrance. Responding officers found a white male age 55 of Fort Worth, Texas, inside the business. He was injured and was the victim in the incident. He reported that a man had assaulted him and tried to rob him. The victim had paid for fuel, and was walking back to his car, his keys in his hand, when the suspect approached him. He said that the suspect was a WM about six feet tall, wearing a dark shirt and camouflage knee-length shorts. He did not know the man. The suspect started yelling at the victim, accusing him of “stealing his car.” The suspect then started striking him repeatedly in the face and body with his fists. He tried to pull the victim’s keys out of his hand, breaking his key chain in the attempt. The suspect also yelled that he had a gun, and reached toward his waistband. Three people on the lot broke up the robbery, and the suspect fled on foot. The victim suffered a small cut on his face and told officers that his ribs were hurting. At about 3:50 AM, an officer checking the area found a suspect matching the description of the robber in the 8700 block of IH-40 East, just south of the robbery scene. He was taken back to the scene, where the victim identified him as the robbery suspect. The suspect was Thomas Allen Knox WM 30. He was booked into the Potter County Detention Center on a charge of robbery."

Do you see that!  A 30 year old man tried to fight and rob a 55 year old man!  Not saying a 55 year old man can't hold his own, I've seen that video of that 67 year old dude beating the crap out of a much younger guy on a bus.

The fact is, I can't think of a better word to describe this suspect than "coward".

I feel like watching that video now, so let us enjoy this moment of triumph the 67 year old man on the bus had.
