It's been a rough go lately for Walmart in Texas when it comes to recalls. Honestly, it's been a rough year in general for recalls, but it seems Walmart has had several of their own lately and this latest one is only heightening concern.

Just a few weeks ago we were checking chicken broth we purchased at Walmart. Now, we have something new to check for.

WHAT IS BEING RECALLED

A particular brand of broccoli targeted to Walmart has been recalled.

There are different levels and types of recalls that range on a scale, and this particular broccoli recall got tagged as a Class I recall. Class I is the highest level of risk that gets issued by the FDA.

In other words, there is an extremely good chance that if you have the product being recalled and you consume it, you're getting sick.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE BROCCOLI

According to a notice the FDA posted on January 27, there is a chance of listeria monocytogenes contamination related to the broccoli.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause symptoms such as fever, nausea, stiff neck, headache, vomiting, diarrhea, and confusion. Honestly, it kind of sounds like the flu making it a bit tricky to know if you've been subjected to it with flu levels so high right now.

WHAT AM I LOOKING FOR

If you have a bag of Braga Fresh’s washed and ready-to-eat 12-ounce bags of Marketside Broccoli Florets, it's time to check your bags for some certain info to see if you've got the recalled version or not.

Now, it should be a bit easier to throw it out because the bags that contain the possible contamination show a best-used-by-date of Dec. 10, 2024, so hopefully you don't still have this laying around. The UPC code you're looking for is 6 81131 32884 5.
