Police officers were dispatched to the 5700 block of Coral Circle in Amarillo on a burglary in progress.  The victim reported hearing loud noises, and windows breaking in her house.  She looked into her sun-room and saw a male that she did not know.  The man was yelling at her, and had his hands on the glass door that separated her from him.  She called 911, and when responding officers arrived, they found the suspect in the backyard.  The case would transform from 1 charge of burglary of a habitat, into 2 additional charges, resisting arrest and assault on a public servant.

"Responding officers found the suspect in the back yard.  He did not respond to the officer’s commands to stop, and tried to get over a fence into the yard next door.  The officer pulled him down from the fence.  The man grabbed the officer’s leg, pulled him to the ground, and fought the officer’s efforts to take him into custody.  The officer was able to use pepper spray on the man, but the resistance continued.  Responding backup officers arrived and assisted in taking the man into custody."

Translation, "beating the suspect into custody".  When you resist arrest and then assault a police officer, you may as well just come out and ask them, "can you go from protect and serve to serving some punches"?  If you're being placed under arrest, there's a reason for it, so just go with it!  The last thing you should do is assault a police officer.  So far, this guy has been acting the fool, I wonder what happens next...

"After he was handcuffed and placed in a patrol car, he slipped the handcuffs in front of his body and tried to push down the window of the patrol car."

Oh this dude is just BEGGING to be hit with a taser!  Now, he's just pushing the limits!

"The officers then had to take him out of the patrol car to secure him.  He again resisted, and officers had to use a TASER to allow them to control and re-secure him.  During the arrest, the man bit an officer on the forearm deeply enough to require medical attention.  Due to the suspect’s behavior, officers took him to the hospital to be medically cleared before he was booked into the Randall County Jail for burglary of a habitation, assault on a public servant, and resisting arrest."
