A very close call puts a Caprock High School student at North West Texas Hospital after being struck on campus by an SUV, driven by another student.

The incident took place Tuesday afternoon, and Amarillo Globe News reports that the injuries "do not appear to be life threatening".  Good news in what could have been yet another tragic story!

The driver of the SUV was a female student of the high school, and it's also reported that the 2 students know each other and are friends.

According to Amarillo police, no charges have been filed.
