City of Amarillo’s New Location For Utility Billing Mobile Unit
Let's just get this out in the open. The City of Amarillo has a real thing for mobile units. We've had a mobile unit for dog vaccinations. We have the mobile Covid vaccination unit. We even have a mobile unit for paying utility bills which is getting a new location.
The Utility Billing Mobile Unit debuted back in March. It was the city's way of giving us another way to get our water bills paid.
Now the Utility Billing Mobile Unit has moved to its new home at 621 S. Johnson Street.
If you've never used the Utility Billing Mobile Unit, it might be worth making a part of your bill-paying routine. It has a walk-up window with full customer service. By full customer service, they mean that you can start, stop, and transfer your service at the walk-up window.
You can even set up payment arrangements at the walk-up window. If there isn't a line, it sounds like the Utility Billing Mobile Unit is the way to go when it comes to your water bill. It sounds quick and easy.
There's also the drive-thru you can use at the Mobile Unit in case you don't want to bother with getting out of your vehicle.
The Utility Billing Mobile Unit is open from 7:30 AM until 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
I'm really liking the Mobile Unit trend we have going in the city. Maybe next we can get a Voter Registration Mobile Unit. I bet more people would vote if we had a mobile unit for it.
We could do away with public comments and just have the Complaint Box Mobile Unit. Pay would have to be high for that one though. I couldn't imagine working that walk-up window with out some great benefits.
A City Employment Mobile Unit would be a good one. Drive around and pick up people looking for work, or just throw someone in the back with a rubber stamp to hire people on the spot.
