Deep Fried Face-Off – Round 3 – Cheese On A Stick VS Cowboy Taters [VIDEO]

It's time for the 3rd and final round of the Deep Fried Face-Off at the Amarillo Tri-State Fair!  In this round, it's not sweet treats, it's greasy & delicious deep fried foods, on a stick, and finger tip!  Gather round girls & boys, we've got a story to tell about Cheese on a Stick and Cowboy Taters!

Cowboy Taters

The Cowboy Taters, aka Ribbon Fries, is something you can't go to the Fair without getting!  Everywhere you look while your there, you see families gathering around a plate with a pile of these potatoes on it.  I like to cover them in seasoned salt and drown them in ketchup.  I like the crunchy ones and the soggy ones, it's just win freaking win!  I feel like a kid again, with a mess of food all over my face, my wife will tell me to wipe my face, and I just tell her "I'm saving that for later!"  Cowboy Taters, you get a 9 on a scale of 1-10!

Cheese On A Stick

Ah yes, another deep fried fatty food that the masses can be seen munching on at the fair.  The Cheese on a Stick is wildly popular as well, be it plain & dry, with ketchup, mustard, or both.  I like both!  I give this food on a stick an 8 out of 1-10.  It's really good for the first few bites, but as I get to the end of it, I usually can't finish it.  Also, my stomach kind of hates me afterwards.  It's like eating a bag of cement, just sits in my stomach for hours and makes me miserable.  But, it's worth it!

So in the final round of the Deep Fried Face-Off, I'll declare the winner to be the Cowboy Taters!

I've had some fun, and gained some weight, taking on the deep fried challenges this year.  And with the fair coming to an end in a few days, we need to crown 1 food item King of the Deep Fried Face-Off!
