Out on the historic Route 66-Amarillo Boulevard you'll find Cattleman's cafe.  This restaurant hasn't closed its doors once in the past 30 years.  That changed when the Blizzard of 2013 hit town due to them horrible weather conditions, Cattleman's Cafe was forced to close it's doors.

The Texas Panhandle and other parts of the US were hit by a massive Blizzard back in 2013 which closed many towns and cities. As for Amarillo, the city was on a standstill.  Schools and businesses shut their doors for at least two days, but for one business its was the first time in 33 years.

The Cattleman's Cafe is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year serving great food all day. That blizzard, made it the first time the restaurant had to closed since the owner bought it back in 1980. The employees weren't able to get to work. Like most of us did that day, so the owner did what she thought was best and close the doors.

Since they've never locked the doors or turned off the lights, they had hit a small problem-they didn't have a key.  The owner managed to get the employees out and lock the door from the inside and then went out through the side of the cafe.

Cattleman's Cafe  24 hours a day, 7 days a week , on the Amarillo Boulevard.  Great food for almost 40 years and they aren't closing anytime soon. Go Try em!
