"Just got paid, it's Friday night." Sorry, my head went to my old school jams playlist there for a minute. But you and I both know that's what you're thinking about right? The week has come to an end, you and the girls have been talking all week about getting together and heading out for a good time Friday night.

Obviously, you aren't going to fly anywhere for a random night out, and since you live in Texas, that's where a girl's night out is going to take place. According to a new study from the fashion site Nasty Gal, maybe you're better off staying home. The study combined a lot of different factors such as cost, fun, and a safe night out. Out of 50 states, let's just say Texas didn't fare so well. Let's start with the good to decent things. Really, there are only a couple of things that Texas had a decent score on, so let's dive in.

COST OF COCKTAIL

The obvious thing you're probably going to be doing at a girl's night out is having some drinks. If you're not a beer girl, those drinks can get a bit expensive and add up quickly. In Texas, the average cost of a cocktail is $12.30. Yeah, I know that seems a bit high and truthfully, it is. It seems most states live around $10-11 per cocktail on average. However, it's not the WORST pricing for a cocktail, so I guess we'll consider that a win.

COST OF BOTTLE OF WINE

If you're not looking for a raging kind of night, more of just a sit down with the girls over some wine, this is where you get a win. The average cost of a bottle of wine in Texas is $15. Most states are living around $14-15 per bottle, so if you're looking for bang for your buck, this is the way to go.

COST OF A CAB

This is where things start to take a turn in Texas. I know we have all sorts of different ride shares these days, but if you're bouncing from place to place, cabs offer a bit more convenience. They aren't convenient on the clutch though, as a five-mile cab ride will cost you and the girls $19 on average. Compared to the majority of states, that's about $5 more per ride than a lot of the U.S.

FAST FOOD MEAL COST

At the end of the evening, there's a good chance everyone is feeling a bit hungry. That late at night, or early in the morning, typically the only thing you can find open is a fast food joint. Now that you've probably spent over $100 on your night, the last thing you want to do is spend an exorbitant amount of money on that late-night snack. Unfortunately, you're gonna need to pull another $10 bill out as the average cost of that meal is $9.30 in Texas. That ranks as one of the most expensive late-night meals you'll find in the country.

SAFETY SCORE

Obviously, the one thing you want to not worry about during the evening is your safety. This is where Texas falls flat, and I mean FLAT. On a scale of 1-100, Texas ranks third to last in safety score with a 34.78. The only states less safe than Texas? Louisiana and Mississippi. So not only do you have to watch how much money is coming out of your purse, you have to watch your purse as well.

OVERALL

When everything is factored in and all the scores are averaged together, Texas finished well enough to finish DEAD LAST in the rankings as the best place for a girl's night out. Probably not the news you were hoping for right? If you're looking for the best girl's night out experience, you have to head to Wisconsin according to the study. I've never partied there, so I can't speak about it. However, maybe their nightlife isn't too bad when it's all said and done.
