Firefighters contained a grass fire that burned 15 acres of field northeast of Amarillo.  The fire took place along St. Francis Ave between Webb Rd and N Parsley Rd and was under control just after 3:00pm Friday afternoon.

"Potter County Fire and Rescue got a call about the fire along St. Francis Avenue between Webb Road and North Parsley Road about 2:45 p.m. Friday, according to Fire Marshal Richard Lake.

The fire was under control by 3:07 p.m. after burning about 15 acres, Lake said, and firefighters were spraying hot spots with water about 3:50 p.m.

Department of Public Safety troopers said the fire began in a ditch along St. Francis before jumping to the field."

The cause of the fire remains unknown, however, the day before a fire took place just west of where this fire occurred.  Sounds a little to coincidental, don't it?

The good news, no houses and no injuries.
