I’m “Youtube Famous”

Everyday our technology increases.  With the increased technology, comes more and more fame.  Ordinary people who would never have been discovered are becoming famous through the internet and sites like Youtube. 

More and more people are being discovered.  This raises a question in my mind, Are they really talented?  And if so what makes them talented?  The number of views?  Youtube has pushed us into an era of everybody being famous.  My son can dance, lets record him and post it to youtube.  Day later, what happens?  100,000 views.  Next thing you know the kid is headed to Ellen or Chelsea Lately.

Now I do agree that this site has given really talented people an opportunity they never would have had.  But lets get real.  Should I become famous because I can lip sync? Well, that is the latest craze right now.  A teen, Keenan Cahil is soaking up the fame as his youtube videos of him lip syncing have reached over 17 million views.  His videos have landed him on many national shows, including Chelsea Lately.

Is it 15 minutes of fame, or will Cahil go on to become an icon.  I personally see it as a faze.  He make us laugh, so lets share the video.  Many people are becoming "Youtube Famous."  I believe it will continue until there is no more internet.  Enjoy your fame all you Youtube Celebrities!!
