It Takes Nothing to Be Kind During Sonic’s Rare Shortage
The thing about fast food is the fact that well it's very convenient. Oh, and Sonic has made it even more convenient. I mean how simple is it to open up the Sonic app and order?
Then when you get to your favorite Sonic location they will have your food ready and will bring it out to you. I love it. Plus the fact that you can get half-price drinks all day and not just during Happy Hour when you use the app. Sure makes it easy and also helps me save money. Two of my favorite things.
Over the weekend I saw a post on social media about a problem that Sonic was having. They wanted to make sure we were aware that they were having trouble. It involved not receiving deliveries that they were expecting.
When you are a business and you count on another business to make sure you have the stuff you needed to serve your customers that leads to a big problem. Now I saw that post and went about my day.
We were rushing to get ready to go to Disney on Ice and decided to pick up a quick meal before we went. We decided on Sonic. Then we opened the app and saw that the closest place I could order through was in Dimmitt. Now they also told me I was out of range to place that order. I thought that was strange but decided we just would have to order once we got there.
Turns out the app is not on in the Amarillo area. Today the closest place I could order from was Clarendon. So of course I am still out of range.
When my daughter got home with our food we got almost everything we ordered. The only thing that was wrong was my granddaughter got applesauce instead of the fries she wanted. OK, my daughter realized then that she would be sharing her fries with her baby girl.
No harm. Plus we could bring that applesauce in her diaper bag for a future snack. No biggie. I still forgot about their post and the shortage they were encountering. Today I saw another post about their difficulty
It turns out that it is just not Sonic having problems. Burger King is facing issues too. They both have Ben E Keith as a supplier. They are working on getting all the orders to the fast food places. Hopefully, everyone will be fully stocked later this week.
Hopefully, the app will be back up and running for Sonic. Hopefully, I can enjoy my convenience and savings again soon. It just doesn't cost you anything to be kind in a time like this. Oh, and if you mention when you order about the app being down and the half-price drink special Sonic says they will honor the deal.
So that is a win.
