A Familiar Amarillo Flooring Store Is Suddenly Gone
With Amarillo's rapid growth and new businesses popping up everywhere, it is easy to overlook when a local business closes.
Picture a business sitting on a busy street just off the interstate. The sign once shouted in red, white, and blue letters that your home needed new flooring. Now, that once loud building sits quiet, with no cars out front.

From Busy Showroom to Empty Building
The sign is gone, with pieces of it on the ground, replaced by for-sale notices taped across the door. That is what has happened to Texas Carpet. The once-flourishing flooring shop is now empty.
Texas Carpet’s History in Amarillo
According to the Better Business Bureau, Texas Carpets opened in Amarillo in 1992. The owners of the business were listed as Rodger Grady and Jerry Hall.
After serving Amarillo for over three decades, the storefront at 3100 W 45th Avenue is now closed and sits empty with for-sale signs on the door. While the business no longer appears active, its public listing has not been updated, and the most recent customer review was posted about seven months ago. Feedback over the years was mixed.
