Blue Bell Is Giving Out Free Ice Cream Across Texas But Not Here
Living in Texas, one thing is for sure, and that is Blue Bell Ice Cream. It's the unofficial state ice cream. It's loved by millions in the state, and has become so popular that many people outside of Texas who can't get it have it shipped to their homes. There is just something about a scoop of the homemade vanilla that makes you feel loved in just one bite. Now that summer break has arrived, ice cream season is officially here.
Blue Bell is so popular that if you walk into just about any ice cream shop that does not make its own ice cream, they are scooping up Blue Bell Ice Cream. With that, Blue Bell has set out on a tour. They are calling it their Lone Star Scoop Tour.
What Is the Lone Star Scoop Tour?
The Lone Star Scoop Tour sends out the Blue Bell truck and trailer to travel Texas, handing out free ice cream, Blue Bell-branded frozen treats, and other giveaways to give back to those who have supported the ice cream for over 100 years.
But there is just one small problem with their tour: they are only staying in Central, South, and coastal Texas. Can it really be a Lone Star Scoop Tour if they are only touring a small portion of Texas?
Which Parts of Texas Are Being Left Out?
The whole upper part of Texas has been left out. That includes the Texas Panhandle, which is home to Amarillo, Canyon, and our surrounding towns, as well as West Texas, including Lubbock, Midland/Odessa, and Abilene. They don't even have anything scheduled in North Texas, which includes the Dallas area, and El Paso, isolated on the far western edge of the state, doesn't have a star on the map either.

Why Is Blue Bell Staying in Central and South Texas?
I get why they might not be moving farther north because Brenham is in the heart of where they are touring, but the rest of Texas loves Blue Bell and would love to see them here in our neck of the woods. Blue Bell says more stops are coming:
More cities and dates will be added every month!

- Comment on their posts asking for a stop
- Email them asking to be added to the tour
- Contact your local Blue Bell Creamery and ask how to make this happen
- Share this article
Maybe if we all ask, they will make a stop in our area.
