Back in August 2025, a pipe burst and flooded the SoncyMed Center at 3501 S. Soncy. It displaced many medical and dental businesses in the facility. Some of them haven't reopened their doors. However, iPOW recovered from the flood and is celebrating their grand reopening on November 5.

iPOW Physical Therapy was one of many that found their businesses underwater. If you are not familiar with iPOW, they are a locally owned physical therapy clinic. They treat a wide variety of orthopedic and movement-related conditions. They take an individual approach to caring for each patient, learning what hurts and what they want to get back to doing.

We had a chance to speak with the owner, Ryley Rodriques, about iPOW and how the business was affected by the flood.

How the SoncyMed Center Flood Hit iPOW Physical Therapy

August 19, 2025, is a day we will never forget. Seeing the clinic flooded and realizing the extent of the damage was overwhelming. This wasn't just a building to us. It was a business we had worked hard to build, a workplace for our team, and a place where our patients trusted us with their care.

From that moment, after seeing the damage from all that water, the iPOW team knew the rebuilding process would not be quick or easy.

iPOW Reopened Just Three Days After the Flood

iPOW returned to seeing patients three days after the flood because they did not want patients to lose access to care. Their team was able to adapt quickly and work with what they had in the days that followed.

When it came to rebuilding, the crew at iPOW did face many challenges. However, according to Rodriques, the biggest were the uncertainty about where iPOW would land, keeping the business running, and making sure employees and patients were taken care of.

There probably wasn't one single moment when everything suddenly felt okay. It was more about watching our team continue to show up, seeing our patients continue to support us, and eventually watching the new clinic start coming together. Each step forward made it a little easier to see that we were going to come out on the other side.
Now the uncertainty about the clinic's location is over. iPOW found a new location for the clinic. They were able to construct, organize, and expand the clinic, ending up with an extra 1,400 sq ft of room.

Their new clinic is located at 8501 S. Soncy, #300, and they are getting ready to celebrate with a grand reopening. They will be hosting an open house, giving the public a chance to see the new clinic.
The grand reopening isn't just about showing off a new space. It's an opportunity for us to say thank you to our patients, our team, and the Amarillo community who continued to support iPOW while we rebuilt.
The event will take place on Thursday, November 5, from 4 to 6 pm. They will have refreshments and a raffle.

What iPOW Learned From the Flood

What was the biggest thing Rodriques and the iPOW crew learned after the flood?

The biggest thing we've learned is just how much support we have around us. Our team showed an incredible amount of resilience. I am exceptionally proud of our team throughout all the headaches we had to endure.
