Wingstop Coming to Dumas as Texas Panhandle Town Grows

If you think Amarillo is growing, it's time to drive 45 minutes north and see another Texas Panhandle town that is growing. Dumas has seen multiple new businesses moving into the city of the Ding Dong Daddy.

Just last week we shared that Whataburger was coming to Dumas, just one of the many additions the city has seen in the last few years.

There was a former church located on Dumas Ave that has been turned into a growing shopping center. Bealls moved into the shopping center in 2025, and then Harbor Freight followed in March 2026. Now, something new with a familiar name will be joining the shopping center.

Where Will the New Wingstop Be Located?

According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Wingstop will be opening a new store in Dumas, Texas. The store will be located at 123 N Dumas Ave, Suite O.

What Will the Wingstop Remodel Include?

The restaurant is expected to be 2,050 sq. ft. Construction will improve an existing building by adding new interior walls, floors, and a ceiling. New lighting and electrical systems, among other items, will also be installed.

When Will Construction Start and Finish?

Construction is expected to begin this month, with a completion date in December. The expected cost for the remodel is $300,000.

Has Wingstop Said Anything About the New Store?

We reached out to Wingstop for information about the new store, including a tentative opening date, how many jobs the restaurant would create, and what residents could expect, but at the time of publishing, Wingstop had not yet responded.

Wingstop has four locations in Amarillo and one location in Canyon; this will be an additional store in the Texas Panhandle.
