Kim Kardashian Concierge Defends Calm Demeanor During Robbery Via Open Letter
The concierge who gave the five armed thieves access to Kim Kardashian’s Paris residence on Sunday (October 3) has written an open letter to the reality star in an attempt to defend himself against speculation that he may have been involved in the robbery.
He released a statement to the French gossip magazine Closer after coming under intense scrutiny from the media for keeping his calm during the harrowing ordeal, according to TMZ.
“Dear Kim, When you feel the cold of the gun on your neck, calm is the only way to stay alive, for you and me,” he said, before adding: “I hope you are getting better.”
Further details about the robbery have since emerged, as the concierge reportedly told police the five thieves did not invoke Kim’s name specifically when they converged on the building, also known as the "No Address Hotel." They instead told him to bring them to “the wife of the rapper,” referring to her husband, Kanye West. The five men also reportedly spoke French “without an accent,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Only two of the five thieves actually entered Kim’s apartment — where they stole over $10 million in jewelry along with two cell phones — while the other three acted as lookouts. The robbers have also been described as being anywhere between the ages of 40 and 50 years old.
Kim -- who finally returned home to Los Angeles yesterday (October 7) -- has remained silent across social media since the robbery. Filming for Keeping Up With The Kardashians, meanwhile, has been halted for the foreseeable future.
