Former MTV star Kristin Cavallari was rushed to a Chicago area hospital after being involved in a car accident earlier today (January 21).

While details on the incident remain minimal, Cavallari’s car was reportedly hit by another driver, according to TMZ.

Thankfully, Cavallari’s injuries are said to be minor, and it's been reported that none of her three kids were with her at the time of the car accident. A witness said Cavallari’s husband, Jay Cutler, arrived at the hospital a short time after she checked in.

“She was hit by another driver in Chicago. She is doing fine and will be discharged from the hospital shortly,” a source reportedly told PEOPLE.

The car accident follows a particularly difficult past few months for Cavallari, as her brother, Michael, was found dead last month, less than two weeks after he was first reported missing. He likely died from exposure to cold, according to reports from law officials who spoke with E! News.

Cavallari paid tribute to her brother on Instagram, posting a photo of the two as young children and writing the caption, "My heart is in a million pieces. Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I’m at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace. I love u so much RIP."
